INNOVATION FROM GATORADE
In order to better serve the desire of many athletes, Gatorade will be removing high fructose corn syrup from both Gatorade Thirst Quencher and G2® over the next few months. By replacing HFCS with sucrose and dextrose [a blend of sucrose, glucose and fructose], we can offer improved taste and premium quality without affecting the performance athletes have come to expect from us for over 40 years. For more information and upcoming news on Gatorade’s latest scientific innovations, please visit www.gatorade.com.
Keep your G up and be proud! You belong to something bigger now.

QBR COACH PRO-FILE
My name is Coach Eric Arrington and I am the head 7th grade and assistant varsity football coach for Farmington Schools in Farmington, Arkansas. Football for me started at a young age. My father got me started when I was in the second grade with a full contact youth league in Hope, Arkansas.
I can still remember the first time I strapped everything on, "Cocked, locked, and ready to rock," as I like to say and attempted to tackle what seemed like a HUGE dummy.
From that point on I had to have it. I was hooked.
My football career at Glenwood High School in Glenwood Arkansas lasted from 7th grade through my senior year. Football for me wasn't just a game; it was a way of life; it was a passion. I didn’t play basketball because it interfered with football off-season and because I couldn't seem to dribble and run. I always wanted to just pick the ball up and run, "It made more sense."
At about 100 pounds soaking wet in the 7th grade, I quickly realized that if I was going to make it in football I had better get bigger and stronger. I loved and still love the competition that lives in the weight room. I love the feeling I get when I set a goal and then shatter it. During this time I also attended football camps in the summer. Unfortunately, QBR camp was never brought to my attention until after I had graduated college.
So, instead I attended camps that were held at different local colleges. Sure, they taught us football but, most of my time was spent standing in line or swimming at the pool. If my dad wanted me to stand in line or swim at the pool he would have taken me and the rest of the family to Six Flags.
After working the QBR Camp for the last six years my dad and I now realize what I was missing out on.
My dream came true in 1998 when the Henderson State University Reddies invited me to play football for their team. For two and a half years I was on cloud nine. Then with a crash of two pads it was over. My coaches had always told me not to take my gift of playing football for granted because it could be taken away in a second. I didn't think it would happen to me but it did.
I consider myself lucky to have a playing career that lasted as long as it did. I have now transferred my passion for playing to passion for coaching.
In 2004, I graduated from Henderson State University and got my first coaching job at El Dorado High School in El Dorado, Arkansas. My first year at El Dorado, I was the 8th grade defensive coordinator. We outscored our opponents 380 to 21. This is also the same year that I was introduced to Dr. Laird Hayes and Quarterback Receiver Camp. I had just been made the varsity quarterback and receiver coach and just like when I was a player, I was looking for ways to sharpen my skills.
I had no idea the opportunity that had been put at my feet. The knowledge I have gained and the fundamentals and skills I have learned are priceless. The coaches that are on staff at each QBR camp are, bar-none, some of the best around. They all come from different backgrounds but they all have one goal in mind and that is to make any athlete or person they come in contact with the best they can be.
Now that I am a coach I get more joy and excitement to see my athletes succeed and shatter their own goals. And since I missed out on the QBR experience as a player I try to bring at least one of my players with me each year. I have had players that couldn't catch a ball if you put glue on their hands and after one camp trip they were put into the starting rotation. I have had two of my running backs make it to the Division I level and two others make it to D-II. I wake up every morning "Reddie to go" because I get to teach young men the game of football. If you were to ask me what my job was I would have to tell you that I don't have a job. I have a passion and my passion is football.

QBR CAMPERS' QUOTES
QBR Camp was the start of my journey to the NFL."
--Mark Brunell, QB Washington Redskins: Pro Bowl MVP
"I sent my son, Tyler, to QBR Camp before his junior and senior year over other camps. I knew from personal experience and a nation-wide reputation that QBR Camp is the only camp of its kind where he would be taught the proper fundamentals and techniques. QBR Camp was THE camp to attend when I was in high school ... and still is!"
--Mike Canales, Offensive Coordinator & QB Coach, University of Arizona; Former NY Jets Wide Receiver Coach
"Your teaching techniques, the professionalism of your staff, and the individual attention you gave my son rank QBR Camp as the BEST!"
--Jim Livengood, Athletic Director, University of Arizona
TIPS FROM THE BERKELEY WELLNESS LETTER
Self-Care: At least 28% of all traffic crashes in the U.S.--or 1.6 million crashes each year--are caused by drivers using cell phones or sending/reading text messages, according to new estimates by the National Safety Council. 1.4 million crashes each year caused by cell phones and at least 200,000 crashes caused by texting.
Fitness: Don't "run through" pain. If you feel pain (beyond mild discomfort) when exercising, stop. Athletes often ignore pain or delay treating it and thus aggravate the problem--so that full recovery can take weeks or months. The surest way to avoid such trouble is to treat any recurring ache of pain right away.
Food and Nutrition: To reduce the risk of cavities, add raisins to unsweetened cereal yourself, instead of buying raisin bran cereal.
