ADVANCE YOURSELF
This summer's QBR Camps are filling up fast so register online today! Coach Laird Hayes, QBR Camp CEO, says there's keen anticipation for the upcoming session.
"QBR continues to emphasize the fundamentals to give quarterbacks, receivers and running backs in passing offenses the edge. This is the advantage you'll have that those you'll be competing against won't have."
Coach Laird also adds, "that's why QBR grads end up starting for their teams and earning college scholarships."

QBR COACH PRO-FILE
I met Dr. Hayes in the early ‘80s when I was playing football at Orange Coast College in Southern California and he was the assistant dean of student affairs. Laird was actually not much older than me at the time. We struck up a friendship and stayed in touch while I went on to play and coach in Europe. I was very fortunate that I was able to travel the world playing football. The last game I ever played was in Hong Kong, China.
Many years passed since then, and my wife Chantel and I moved to Athens, Georgia. I have been a Financial Advisor for the last 15 years. Chantel is a fundraiser for the University of Georgia Bulldogs. I stayed involved with football working with local QBs and Receivers when their fathers or coaches would ask me to. I have been very involved in local community activities, President of the Rotary club, and Board chair for the United Way.
Probably the most rewarding thing I have been doing for the last 10 years is being a mentor to a young man named Taylor Allen.
One day, about four years ago, one of Taylor’s friends' father brought me a brochure about QBR Camp and wanted to know if I thought it would be worthwhile to send his son there. He was pretty shocked when I said “Hey I know Dr. Hayes.”
It had been years since Laird and I had spoken to each other, but I gave him a call and it was like old times. Well, next thing you know, Taylor and I, along with a few kids from Athens were at the QBR Camp in Georgia.
I have participated in many camps and clinics over the years. Taylor and I could certainly stay busy with all the good sports camps around The University of Georgia, but we choose QBR Camp every year.
The reason for this is simple, QBR is a working camp with multiple sessions each day. It is all about fundamentals and repetitions. If you are looking for autographs and expect to hang around the pool, this is certainly not the camp for you. QBR is all about young Quarterbacks and Receivers building a sound foundation in order to maximize their abilities. Most kids would be hard pressed to duplicate the quality and amount of work packed in at QBR Camp.
Coach Mark Farriba has run the Georgia camp for Dr. Hayes for many years, and has assembled an outstanding staff that includes Josh and Tad Niblett from Hoover High School in Alabama. In addition to the strenuous on field activities, Coach Farriba does a great job in our team meetings explaining to the young men what it takes to achieve their goals, and how to become good men.
In conclusion I would have to say that if your son is interested in working hard and learning the proper fundamentals, then QBR is the place for him. Taylor and I look forward to seeing you in June. --QBR Coach Kirk Dunham
QBR CAMPER FAMILY QUOTES
Dear Dr. Hayes and QBR Camp Staff:
Our son and several of his receivers attended QBR Camp the past two summers. This season they won the Section CIF Championship. Thank you for the great instruction your coaches gave Jesse and his receivers, and for the part you all played in a great season.

TIPS FROM THE BERKELEY WELLNESS LETTER
Self-Care: Chew sugarless gum to help fight tooth decay. Gum chewing stimulates saliva flow and thus reduces harmful acidity from bacteria in the mouth. It also helps squeeze saliva into the spaces between the teeth. To get the most benefit from gum, pop a stick into your mouth within five minutes after eating and chew it for at least 15 minutes.
Fitness: Make your own sports drink. For most exercisers, water is an ideal fluid replacement. But during a strenuous endurance event lasting more than an hour, slightly sugared beverages may help your body conserve its carbohydrate stores, maintain normal blood sugar levels, and thus delay fatigue. Special “sports drinks” supply the optimal amount of carbohydrates--4 to 8% concentration--for endurance exercise, plus small amounts of sodium and potassium. But, in fact, these drinks are nutritionally similar to diluted juice or soft drinks.
Food and Nutrition: Eat sweet potatoes. Despite their sweet taste, they have about the same number of calories per ounce as white potatoes. A 3-ounce baked sweet potato contains three times the recommended daily amount of beta carotene, half the RDA for vitamin C, and just 100 calories.
