"I learned a lot about football while attending the QBR camps in Arkansas and in Michigan. The first night at my first camp, after being told lights out by 11:00, I thought, "are you kidding me, does anybody have the energy to stay up that late!?

I remember throwing so many passes the first day that not only did I wonder if my arm was going to fall off, but my underarm was sunburned so bad I could hardly move. (You might want to mention this fact to campers before their first day so they'll use sunscreen after the deodorant. No kidding!) It's a great camp for kids. Especially for kids like me with little or no experience. If I could ever help in any way with a camp, I'd love to do so.

I wouldn't have gotten this far without the training and encouragement I received from all of the coaches at QBR Camp. Every coach I had was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about whatever skill they taught. All of the coaches loved what they were doing and acted like they cared about every kid on the field. When I say I listened and worked hard putting to use what I learned, I did. It has paid off. Signing day is Wednesday! Go Army!" --Hunter Frantz

QBR CAMP Coach's Pro-File
QBR Camp Experience Led To College Play, Raiders, And Italy! Bob Frasco: QBR Camp Coach Since 2005Coach Frasco

"After very average freshman and sophomore years at El Modena High School, in Orange County, California, I made a decision to either be the best football player I could or--stop playing. I sat on the bench both years playing just a few plays on special teams. In the summer of 1977, I decided to go for it and put my social life on hold for a few years. In my junior year, after the third game, I asked the coaches to start me at QB.

They thought I was crazy.

We finished the year with me at QB and we went 11-0 to end the season and won the CIF championship! Going into my senior year, I wanted to be the best. The turning point for me was signing up for Quarterback & Receiver Camp in 1979. I went from a good QB to one that many colleges wanted.

At the end of the season, I felt I could improve my skills more and wanted to play one year at a junior college. I enrolled at Santa Ana College and became an All American. I left after one season on a full scholarship to San Jose State.

There, I started my last two years and was selected most valuable player in my senior year. I signed a contract with the Los Angeles Raiders in 1985. Coach Frasco and SonI was the last QB cut on the last day of camp. I then signed with the Rams during a strike season and played with them for four games. I was released when the strike ended.I then received a phone call to play football in Italy. My contract was originally for six months and I ended up signing a five year extension. I can honestly say those were the best five and a half years of my life! Our team won many championships and better yet, I met some outstanding people.

I would just like to say one more thing in closing. It is amazing the doors that open in life when you decide to do something important and go for it.

Football has taken me all around the world. I have been to over 25 countries coaching, playing, and watching this game. Just because I decided to be the best, one summer out of my life. It has also encouraged me academically.

Football allowed me a free education where I completed my undergrad and my masters in education. I currently coach at Godinez High School in Santa Ana, CA, and teach emotionally disturbed high school kids at Magnolia High School in Anaheim. I also fly back to Italy every summer and coach the Italian National Football Team. What a life...all because of football!"

What Football Is All About

Nutrition Tip
Choose skinless turkey breast. It's just about the leanest of all meats. A three-ounce portion has less than a gram of fat and 120 calories. Plain roast turkey is your best bet: turkey cold cuts and self-basting turkeys can be quite high in fat.

Fitness Tip
Don't "run through" the pain. If you feel pain (beyond mild discomfort) when exercising, stop. People often ignore pain or delay treating it, and thus aggravate the problem, so that full recovery can take weeks or months. The surest way to avoid such trouble is to treat any recurring ache or pain right away.
