Quote of the Month
"Judge your success by what you had to
give up in order to get it."
--The Dalai Lama
Welcome To The 45th Year Of Quarterback and Receiver
Camp!
This is the inaugural edition of "Goal Post," QBR
Camp's monthly
newsletter. We're excited to be able to send you information
about our coaches, campers, links to useful websites, tips on
nutrition and training and more.
The QBR Camp staff and coaches encourage participation
of those who are new to us this year, along with those who have
attended
previous QBR Camps benefiting from our "best in the business"
instructional program.
Numerous former QBR Campers have gone on to play
college and professional football. This month we're highlighting
San
Francisco 49ers' QB Alex Smith. Alex attended QBR twice while a
student athlete at Helix HS in San Diego. Along with Reggie Bush,
Alex helped lead the Highlanders to a California
Interscholastic Federation division championship.
Smith attended the University of Utah, where
he excelled in the classroom as well as on the football field--and
was the first player selected in the 2005 NFL draft.
Last summer a thousand athletes from 45 states
and Canada attended QBR Camps in California, New Jersey, Arkansas,
Michigan
and Georgia. 2009 promises to be bigger and better.
As president of QBR I'm continuing the tradition
that my father began 45 years ago, making our camp the longest
running
specialty camp in the country.
Send Us Your QBR Camp Experience Story!
Send us your QBR Camp experience story to be
included in a future edition of "Goal Post." If you are
a returning camper, email us
with your most memorable experience(s) at camp. Please let us
know how the training you received has improved your game. Send
an email to the main office at [info@footballcamp125.com], or
call us toll-free, 866-486-4400.
Sincerely,
Dr. Laird Hayes

Nutrition Tip
The top 10 nutrition all-stars among fruits and
vegetables, along with broccoli and kale, are cantaloupe,
carrots, mangoes, pumpkin, red bell peppers, spinach,
strawberries and sweet potato.
Fitness Tip
Warm up before stretching. Stretching cold muscles
can injure them. Warming up--by jogging in place for 5 to 10
minutes, for instance--prepares you for exercise by gradually
increasing your heart rate and blood flow, raising the temperature
of muscles and improving muscle function. It may also decrease
the chance of a sports injury.
