QBR CAMPER PLAYER'S LETTER

College-Level QBR Coaching Helps H.S. Player

"Quarterback & Receiver Camp was excellent for my development as a quarterback. QBR managed to bring competitiveness between the campers to a program that was designed to make you better and help you work on the fundamentals.

It was great also in the fact that you got immediate feedback from the coaches about technique, foot work, ball placement and overall performance after each rep. Honestly, QBR Camp was the key in my taking that next step in my sport.

It changed how l played and it changed how l approached the game. l was way more confident in my abilities after attending QBR." --Collin Wigely

(Wigely currently plays football at Tusculum University, Tennessee.)

QBR CAMP LEGENDS

QBR Hat + Signature = Priceless!

Our QBR Camp email box fills up with stories that are newsletter worthy.

A dad calls us and says his son, Chris Stidham, attended camp in 2005. The dad's younger son now wants to attend this summer's camp training. Recently, one of the boys went to a yard sale, and found a QBR hat that looked about 100 years old.

He buys it for 50 cents and takes it home. A close look at the hat shows it had been signed--by Joe Namath!

QBR CAMP COACH'S PRO-FILE

Jim Meert, Flemington, New Jersey Transmits
QBR Camp Values, Leadership

It has been my great privilege to have coached at Quarterback and Receiver Camp for the past 25 years. The coaches and players I have met through my association have been among the finest people I have ever known. The Hayes family, Bob Casiola, Fritz Halfacre, Mike Judge, John Franco, Eric Hamilton, and Gary Falon and so many others that have had a tremendous influence upon my life and coaching.QBR Camp - Jim Meert

We have sent countless numbers of players to QBR Camp over the years and it has benefited all of them considerably. One of the greatest pluses to attending QBR is the attention coaches provide to the fundamental details of passing and catching the football. No detail is overlooked and the size and experience of the coaching staffs brings the most up to date techniques to every camper. Another advantage gained by QBR participation is the increased level of confidence that players gain as a result of the improvement that they can see in themselves over the course of the camp. Their confidence is increased further as they see their team mates’ improvement when they come together in the “team periods”. A final benefit a player sees is his level of commitment versus those teams against whom he is competing who are not at camp. We make a point of emphasizing to our players that they are demonstrating a higher level of commitment than the competition, and that the extra commitment he demonstrates will pay benefits when we meet that opponent in the fall.

The single greatest gift that QBR provides is the tremendous work the staff does in teaching leadership and character development. These values remain with a young man long after his playing days are over. This commitment to helping young men on and off the field is what establishes QBR as the standard for sports instructional camps.

Sincerely,
Jim Meert

FITNESS, NUTRITION AND SELF-CARE TIPS

Hot Weather Fitness Tip
Once the hot weather starts, build up your tolerance to outdoor exercise slowly. During the first week or two, your body will adjust by enlarging sweat glands and tiny blood vessels near the skin’s surface.

Food and Nutrition Tip
Be a semi-vegetarian. That’s someone who supplements a steady diet of vegetables, whole grains, legumes, fruit, and dairy products with occasional moderate servings of beef, poultry, and fish. The potential benefits are many: a lowered risk for heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, the maintenance of a healthy weight, and fewer digestive complaints.

Self-Care Tip
To keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy, spend five minutes a day brushing and flossing. Use a fluoride toothpaste. Use a brush with soft bristles (hard bristles can damage the gums), and hold it at an angle pointed toward the junction of teeth and gums. Waxed and unwaxed floss are equally effective.
